Regional Employer Sponsored 494 Visa Australia

This visa is similar to the 491 but it is not points tested. It has a validity period of 5 years with the option to apply for PR after 3 years.

Must be under the age of 45
Must have competent English
Must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience within the last 5 years in the nominated occupation and at the required skill level required. The period does not need to be continuous and equivalent part-time work may be considered
Must have a positive skills assessment

Must be located in a designated regional area (everywhere except Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane)
Regional areas include Perth, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Lake Macquarie, Illawarra, Geelong, Newcastle, Wollongong, Adelaide, Hobart and Canberra.
Position must be on the list of eligible occupations
Position must be full time and available for 5 years
Employer to have approval from the Regional Certifying Body (RCB)
Employer must pay the Australian Market Salary Rate (AMSR)

Must live and work for 3 years in regional area to get Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) 191 Visa
Can move between jobs with 90 days to find a new employer
Cannot apply for any other skilled PR or 820 partner visa for 3 years
Eligible for Medicare on 494 visa
