Subclass 491 Visa

This visa is a regional visa which has a validity period of 5 years with the option to apply for Subclass 191 Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa after 3 years.

Can be nominated by an Australian state or territory or be sponsored by an eligible relative. Each state has its own requirements.

Requirements:

Nominated occupation must be on the 491 occupations list
Must be sponsored by an eligible relative or state authority
Points tested (pass mark 65 points)
Have a suitable and positive skills assessment
Must live and work for 3 years in regional areas to be eligible for Permanent Residence
Must earn more than $53,900 per annum for 3 years in nominated occupation if employer sponsored
May move between regions
Cannot apply for any other skilled PR or partner visa for 3 years
