This visa is similar to the 491 but it is not points tested.\u00a0 It has a validity period of 5 years with the option to apply for PR after 3 years.<\/p>

Requirements:
<\/strong><\/h4>

• Must be under the age of 45<\/li>
• Must have competent English<\/li>
• Must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience within the last 5 years in the nominated occupation and at the required skill level required. The period does not need to be continuous and equivalent part-time work may be considered<\/li>
• Must have a positive\u00a0skills assessment<\/li><\/ul>

  Employer requirements:
  <\/strong><\/h4>

  • Must be located in a designated regional area (everywhere except\u00a0Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane)<\/li>
  • Regional areas include\u00a0Perth, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Lake Macquarie, Illawarra, Geelong, Newcastle, Wollongong, Adelaide, Hobart and Canberra.<\/li>
  • Position must be on the list of eligible\u00a0occupations<\/li>
  • Position must be full time and available for 5 years<\/li>
  • Employer to have approval from the\u00a0Regional Certifying Body (RCB)<\/li>
  • Employer must pay the Australian Market Salary Rate (AMSR)<\/li><\/ul>

    Conditions and pathway to PR:<\/h4>

    • Must live and work for 3 years in regional area to get Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) 191 Visa<\/li>
    • Can move between jobs with 90 days to find a new employer<\/li>
    • Cannot apply for any other skilled PR or 820 partner visa for 3 years<\/li>
    • Eligible for\u00a0Medicare on 494 visa\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>
